The Golf GTI has earned its place as the icon of all compact sports cars. Not only that: The letters GTI have become the symbol of a complete genre of vehicles and the epitome of compact handling dynamics. Now Volkswagen presents at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt the next stage of evolution for this icon of driving pleasure: A Golf GTI concept of the fifth generation.

This concept personifies sheer GTI culture. Powered by a completely new FSI turbo engine with 147 kW / 200 hp, the two door GTI closes, both conceptionally as well as visually, the circle to the legendary founding vision of Grand Tourisme Injection: The Golf GTI of the year 1976.

Bernd Pischetsrieder, Volkswagen's CEO, took over to introduce the cars, obviously with enjoyment.

Oh, not to forget the Concept R introduction,  which will represent Volkswagens understanding of emotional car design.

As a dream car of the highest standard, the new 6 Series Coupe is continuing the tradition of BMW's luxury coupes. Both elegant and dynamic in one, the BMW 645 Ci may rightly claim, through its engine, its sporting driving characteristics, and generous space inside, to set a new benchmark in the luxury sports coupe segment.

BMW is enlarging the Sports Activity market segment by adding a new range, the X3 combining the agility of a compact BMW with the supreme driving experience of the X5.

The X3, which is build by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria is the first car, BMW outsourced completely.

Today Alfa Romeo introduced the 8C Competizione, a concept building on the heritage of the sporty Alfa history. Still waiting for some more technical details, we do not want to let you wait for some first impressions.

The Alfa 166

The Style Centre has yet again succeeded in finding the right stylistic balance to bring the Alfa 166 right up to date. In its shape, for example, rounded surfaces and corners work out their natural tensions to achieve an ideal point of balance.

Understated, updated retro Alfa traits are apparent. More recent graphic motifs that the public now recognizes and appreciates as distinguishing Alfa Romeo features are also present in adapted form.
