Fiat Panda SUV

.
This original 'off-road' vehicle is derived from the Simba, the concept car that attracted so much attention at the 26th Motor Show in Bologna and the 73rd Geneva Motor Show. So it is a significant event, which comes just a few days after the presentation of the Fiat supermini itself in Lisbon.

The model's very styling speaks of travel and adventure. But it is just as ready to take on our everyday traffic. It is a revolutionary SUV for its original design and versatility, a car that opens up new horizons in the mini segment. As a matter of fact it is the first European 'Sport Utility Vehicle' that is small in size but still capable of combining off-road features with the comfort and performance of a conventional car. In short, the versatility of the Panda in its most limpid incarnation.

Fiat Panda

.

Presented recently to the international Press at Lisbon, the New Panda makes its public debut at Frankfurt. This is a vehicle with original styling that is striking for its dynamism. Once you climb aboard, the same car conveys all the practicality and comfort of a higher category model. This, in brief, is the spirit of the New Panda, the supermini due to go on sale in September.

Appealing, easy to remember and sustained by the over twenty years of success of the model launched in 1980, the Panda name is part of Fiat's heritage

Fiat Idea

.

.
Known in-house as the 'Project 350', the originality of this new model lies in its marriage of two conflicting motoring concepts. Handling and compact size on the one hand (it measures a little under four metres in length, 1.70 metres in width and 1.66 metres in height) - and all the modularity and versatility of a true MPV on the other.

This ability to meet diverse needs will make the model the new benchmark in the compact Multipurpose Vehicle market band: a fast-changing subsegment that the most prestigious manufacturers are queuing to enter and where Fiat is poised to play a starring role.

Alfa Romeo 166

.
.

.
The new flagship inherits from its predecessor a clean, sleek shape that makes it look agile and ready to leap into action: the New Alfa 166 takes Alfa's dual mission of 'sportiness and elegance' and turns it into an understated beauty that is quintessentially Italian. Classic brand styling cues are not brazenly flaunted but subtly hinted at. The car's volumes and chrome trim are carefully modulated.

The Style Centre has yet again succeeded in finding the right stylistic balance to bring the Alfa 166 right up to date. In its shape, for example, rounded surfaces and corners work out their natural tensions to achieve an ideal point of balance.

Alfa Romeo GT

.
The model was created in conjunction with Bertone for original styling coupled with exhilarating performance. It represents a revolutionary new concept, i.e. sportiness combined with comfort and elegance. The car aims to offer all the driving satisfaction of an extraordinarily high-performing coupe without the compromises typical of this type of car. This is exemplified by its large luggage capacity and generous amount of rear passenger room.

The Alfa GT also succeeds in packing the results of Alfa's superlative engineering heritage into a shape inspired by a sense of style and flair that could only be Italian. The stylists were also able to call on a great Alfa Romeo tradition that has brought us models that remain benchmarks for the category: the 1900, the Giulietta, the Giulia and the Alfetta.

Alfa  8C Competizione
.

Designed and developed at the Alfa Romeo Style Centre, this prototype will become a true brand icon, evoking a great sports car tradition of which the name is part. In the Thirties and Forties, the '8c' signature that returns here, identified the racing and road cars that were equipped with the new eight cylinder engine developed by the famous engineer Vittorio Jano. The term 'Competizione' on the other hand, is a tribute to the 6C 2500 Competizione, the sports coupé driven by Fangio and Zanardi in the famous Mille Miglia race in 1950.

So '8c Competizione' is not an invented name, but a clear reference to Alfa's racing history. And of course the Alfa Romeo legend was created to a great extent by the victories its cars achieved on race courses all around the world. There were so many of them that alone they represent a long, fascinating chapter, made of men and competitive spirit, engines and cutting edge technical ideas. The protagonists of the inestimable human and technological heritage that is responsible for today's beautiful cars, full of character and, above all, capable of combining the beauty of the styling with the pleasure of driving them.

Lancia Fulvia Concept
.

.

.
The year was 1965. At the Geneva Motor Show, Lancia introduced the Fulvia Coupé 1.2, a powerful, well-balanced car that was absolutely unique for the mechanical solutions adopted. The model's great strength lay in its engine configuration of 4 cylinders in a narrow V.

And now, forty years on from the debut of the first Fulvia saloon and thirty-one years after Munari's victory, Lancia has decided to build a prototype to celebrate one of the models that made the brandname famous throughout the world.

Apart from anything else, the Lancia Style Centre designers have always had one perennial dream: to recreate the Fulvia Coupé as though it had been left free to evolve without interruption. The approach to the project was very clear from the outset: no nostalgic self-indulgence but a post-modern reworking of the original concept and styling cues.

Lancia Thesis Promenade
.

.

The special production Thesis Promenade takes us back to that magical atmosphere and the prestigious cars that threaded their way along the French coast with casual elegance.

The new version arose out of the Lancia Style Centre's wish to experiment with no particular productive end in view. Its exterior features an original Ivory colour obtained by superimposing three layers of paint (to further emphasise the car's shape and lines) and brand new 18" light alloy wheels with special PAX tyres that keep going even when punctured
