Ford Visos Concept

.

.
“We’ll be showing something very significant for us”, explains Chris Bird, Ford’s European Design Director. “We asked the team to develop a shape which not only embodies their passion and enthusiasm for cars, but which gives a clear indication of how we want Ford of Europe’s future design language to evolve.”

The result is a Design Study called Ford Visos. It is a full four-seat luxury sports car featuring innovative technologies. Significantly, the study hints at the blue oval’s future design direction in Europe. It will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 9.

Ford C-Max

.

.
Focus C-MAX is Ford’s all-new multi-activity people mover, joining the acclaimed Ford Focus range this autumn. The 'C' points to its key attributes – comfort, confidence and control – while 'MAX' is symbolic of Ford’s leadership targets in those areas.

At Frankfurt, Ford is revealing that its 1.6-litre, Duratec 16V petrol engine will join the Focus C-MAX range later in 2003. With this, Focus C-MAX will be available this year with a choice of 1.6-litre 100 PS or 1.8-litre 120 PS Duratec petrol engines and two new Duratorq TDCi common-rail diesel engines in 1.6-litre 109 PS and 2.0-litre 136 PS variants.

Land Rover Freelander

.

The changes include a new interior and major external revisions, including new face and tail. There is also an additional derivative, the Freelander Sport, the sharpest handling and sportiest Land Rover production model ever.

“As well as being an international best-seller, the Freelander also invented a new segment – the compact premium 4x4 sector,” said Matthew Taylor, Land Rover’s managing director. “The latest changes are designed to improve the premium nature of the Freelander, and make it an even more desirable and successful vehicle.”

Land Rover Discovery
.

.

The 2004 Discovery's off-road ability is improved with a locking centre differential as standard equipment on the XS and ES specification. This distributes the engine power equally between the driving axles, reducing the risk of wheel slip and enhancing the Discovery's already impressive off-road credentials.

For 2004, the Discovery receives additional revisions to enhance its appeal with families. All models now receive the ISOFIX child seat fixing system. This simple, yet universally agreed standard enables any ISOFIX child seat which has been approved for use in a Discovery, to be fitted easily and securely to the vehicle.

Mazda Kusabi Concept

The Kusabi Concept will be presented in Frankfurt. Most likely the car will be based on the Mazda3 platform. As rumors tell, the car is equipped with a diesel engine. For more information on this concept, we will have to wait for the show.

Mazda3

'
.

.
MAZDA3 blurs the lines of conventional vehicle segments, offering traditional C-segment customers more than they would normally expect in terms of design, craftsmanship and interior packaging. Of course, MAZDA3 will continue the company’s much-envied dynamic Zoom-zoom driving experience, often associated with more expensive European-built vehicles.

Recent Mazda products, developed and built using these same priorities, have helped the company achieve critical product acclaim from customers and media, including more than 50 international awards for the MAZDA6 and the "2003 International Engine of the Year" award for the RENESIS rotary engine in the new Mazda RX-8.

Jaguar X-Type Estate

.

Mirroring the X-TYPE saloon, the availability of permanent all-wheel drive allied to a choice of powerful V6 petrol engines is complemented by the new 2.0 litre diesel engine announced in June.

In all cases the new Estate builds on the craftsmanship, style and technological leadership of the X-TYPE saloon with exclusive detailing and numerous intelligent features including integral roof rails and a rear screen that opens independently of the tailgate.

Volvo S40
.

.

.
The new Volvo S40 replaces the current S40, which was launched in Europe in 1995. It is the newest addition to Volvo's S-range, which also includes the larger Volvo S60 and S80 models.

From the outside, the new S40 is unmistakably a Volvo, a modern evolution of the extraordinary design language that began with the S80 luxury sedan.

The interior is a revolution, with an ultra-slim center console -- the first of its kind in the automotive world -- creating an aura of exclusivity, simplicity and space. "The center console is a design icon for the new Volvo S40," says Henrik Otto, Design Director at Volvo Cars. "We intend to pursue our position as inaugurators in the car design world, not looking at what our competitors are doing. It is therefore far more valuable to keep an eye on what they're not doing."
