.. Morgan: AERO 8 at the Geneva Autoshow
[Aero-Frontpage] [Chassis] [Engine] Traditional sportscar manufacturer Morgan took the world by storm earlier this week with the hugely successful launch of its all-new aluminium supercar, the Aero 8.

Unusually for a show car, the Aero 8 was driven onto the stand by its Engineering Director Chris Lawrence and, say Morgan, is definitely not a concept. The new car will go into production at Morgan's Malvern factory in July of this year and production is expected to be 200 cars per year.

Pictures of the launch were broadcast live over the internet and in the 24 hours following the launch Morgan's website received more than 100,000 hits. Orders have been quick to follow and the first year's production has already been sold. Also taking part in the launch ceremony were Michael Urbschatt, Vice-President of BMW's powertrain division, Guenter Ranzinger, Senior Project Engineer at BMW, and BMW's Senior Project Manager Manfred Christian, who have all worked closely with Morgan in the development of the Aero 8.
