Ford Motor Company Launches Operational Leasing In Russia

Moscow, Russia - Ford Motor Company teams up with Budget Rent-A-Car to announce the first major deal completed under the operational leasing scheme in Russia.

"We have been working on the plan for operational leasing in Russia for the past two years," - said Henrik Nenzen, President of Ford Motor Company in Russia. "The decision has been based on our customers' demands. Many international companies that operate in Russia have been requesting similar Ford leasing services as we provide elsewhere in the world. We are committed to quality of our products and services and Russia is no exception. We are very pleased to sign the first contract with Unilever under the operational leasing format."

With its extended dealer network in Russia it was possible for Ford to offer to the major clients a combination of financial and other leasing services that ultimately represents all the features of the operational leasing. Any client of Ford Motor Company can benefit from the plan that provides fleet car maintenance and service. Our customers have guaranteed fixed monthly cost for operating their vehicles. This results in improved efficiency and convenience to budget expenses.

"Due to the existent Ford dealer network that includes experienced dealers principals and their enterprises we are able now to offer a financial product to our customers that assists them in fleet operations and has all properties of the operational leasing", commented Sergey Bogdanov, Fleet Sales Director at Ford. "We will continue to seek any potential solution which would offer future opportunities for the customers of our company in Russia."

Ford Russia sales in 2001 will reach 4200 units. Ford remains firmly committed to Russia and is due to open its plant near St. Petersburg in 2002.
