Munich, London - BMW has launched at the Science Museum in London a new education resource focused on the use of hydrogen as the fuel of the future. The main element is a video entitled BMW CleanEnergy - Hydrogen Power intended for secondary schools in the U.K. This launch is part of the BMW CleanEnergy World Tour which hits London today, aimed at championing H2 as the fuel of the future.

The video, produced for students aged 14-18 years old, is designed for use by teachers of science, environmental studies and citizenship.

It explores the issues surrounding liquid hydrogen and its use as a fuel for cars with internal combustion engines. The video can be used as a stand-alone resource to stimulate general discussion on global interdependence and environmental issues or teachers may choose to highlight specific elements to illustrate practical applications, in the areas of science for example.

"There is wide agreement that hydrogen economy is the fuel of the future", said Jim O'Donnell, Managing Director, BMW Great Britain. "For schoolchildren it will be as much a part of their adult lives as fossil fuels are today. We hope this video and the teaching resources which follow will help raise an understanding of these crucial issues" he concluded.

Further support for classroom activities can also be found at BMW Great Britain's dedicated education website www.bmweducation.co.uk. Hydrogen Power is the latest initiative in the BMW Education Programme and is offered free of charge to all UK secondary schools.
