Michael Simcoe To Head GM Asia Pacific Design
|
Michael Simcoe, 45, has been
named GM Executive Director Asia Pacific Design, effective September 1. He
will assume the position while remaining responsible for Holden's design
effort as part of his regional role. His appointment was jointly announced
today by Holden Chairman and Managing Director Peter Hanenberger and
President and CEO, GM Daewoo Auto & Technology, Nick Reilly.
Mr Simcoe joined Holden in
1983 and has been Director of Design at Holden since 2001. Mr Hanenberger
today said Mr Simcoe would lead design strategy and oversee day-to-day
design operations at GM Daewoo. Mr Simcoe also participated in numerous
international projects including the "Cruze" Show Car Project
and more recently the Pontiac GTO.

Holden has attained design and product leadership in the Australian market
and has expanded its reach into numerous export markets. At the same time,
Holden has earned recognition and acceptance as an innovative and creative
international operation," Mr Hanenberger said. "I congratulate
Mike on his appointment."
