Fiat Comes To Mexico Through General Motors

Mexico City - General Motors de Mexico (GMM) and the Fiat company have announced the signing of a commercial agreement to market and distribute Fiat vehicles in Mexico.

The agreement sets the bases for a long-term business relationship, in which Fiat will produce vehicles with a high standard of quality, safety and design. GMM will market them and offer service support, spare parts and assistance in very competitive market conditions.

This alliance will offer attractive benefits for the two companies. Fiat will launch its product onto the Mexican market, using GMM's experience and infrastructure, while GMM will strengthen its portfolio of vehicles still further in different key segments with very attractive products.

GMM will begin marketing Fiat vehicles in the third quarter of this year with the Palio line of autos, which includes the five-door Palio, the Palio Sedan and the Palio Adventure. These cars are already successfully marketed in European and Central and South American countries. Soon, we will inform you in detail of the sales system that GMM will deploy for the Fiat brand in Mexico.

In the framework of the signature of the agreement, Arturo Elías, Director General of GMM commented: "We are very excited about this alliance with Fiat since it reinforces our permanent commitment to offering attractive and competitive products and services to the Mexican market".

Alberto Ghiglieno, CEO of Fiat Auto for Latin America added: "With the launch of Fiat products onto the Mexican market, hand-in-hand with the leading company in the automotive sector in this country, we will consolidate out presence in Latin American markets".
