Corporation announced that James Muir, Vice President for Sales, has been
appointed President and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe. Mr. Muir replaces Dan
Morris, who has lead the company since May 2003 and is moving to corporate
headquarters in Japan where, subject to shareholder approval on 24th June
2005, he will replace Stephen Odell as Director and Senior Managing
Executive Officer in charge of Marketing, Sales and Customer Service.

James Muir, 46, joined Mazda
as Managing Director in the UK in 2001 after holding various management
positions for the Ford Motor Company. He oversaw the founding of Mazda
Motor UK Ltd., which doubled its sales volume during his tenure. In June
2003, he was appointed Vice President of Sales at Mazda Motor Europe. In
this capacity, he has strengthened the European sales network and managed
the creation of four new national sales companies-in Denmark, Norway,
Sweden and Russia. Mr. Muir's successor will be named at a later date.
