and Karlsruhe and completing an MBA degree in Chicago,
Strotbek entered the Volkswagen Group in 1991 as
Assistant to the Board Member for Finance and
Controlling of the Volkswagen brand. |
He then held various positions in
Controlling and General Financial Planning before moving to
Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH in Zwickau in November 2000 as Managing
Director for Finance and Controlling. Since September 2004, Axel
Strotbek has been Executive Vice President for Finance at the
Volkswagen Group China in Beijing.
“With Axel Strotbek, our ranks are
complete again in the Audi Board of Management. We have acquired
the skills of an acknowledged financial expert who is familiar
with the Group and has a great deal of experience, especially in
the financial evaluation of products. Moreover, he brings to
Ingolstadt his insights into China. As China is our second
domestic market, these insights will help to move the whole of
AUDI AG further forwards. Together with Axel Strotbek, we will
make even more direct progress on our way to becoming the
world’s most successful premium manufacturer,” said Chairman
Rupert Stadler on the appointment of the future Board Member.
