Now in its 60th year, the event draws more than 350,000 motorcycle
enthusiasts and celebrities. "We are proud to be a sponsor of
the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally," said Gene Brown, marketing manager
of Ford's F-150 program. "The Harley-Davidson F-150 truck embodies
the spirit of two great legends of the American road, and is now a
symbol of this legendary event."
With
a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $32,995, the 4x2
SuperCab is dressed in black monochromatic paint accented with
distinctive "Harley-Davidson" orange pinstriping, chrome
billet grille and brightwork with a flareside box. The 260 horsepower
5.4 liter TritonÒ V-8 single overhead cam engine powers massive
Harley-Davidson branded 20x9-inch five-spoke chromed aluminum wheels and
P275/45R 20 Goodyear Eagle GTII tires - the first 20-inch wheels on a
Ford production vehicle.
Inside,
the truck features black leather trimmed seats and a unique "spun
metal" instrument cluster highlighted by the famous Harley-Davidson
Bar and Shield ornament. The exhaust is a sport-tuned SVT Lightning
muffler ending in dual chrome 3-1/2-inch "slash cut" exhaust
tips. The suspension is lowered one inch and rides on specially tuned
SVT Lightning shocks. Ford and Harley-Davidson announced their alliance
last year at Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Florida. The two companies
unveiled the unique Harley-Davidson F-150 last August at the Sturgis
event, the first product of their historic brand alliance. The alliance
provides the opportunity for the two companies to jointly develop and
market exciting products, like the limited edition Harley-Davidson F-150
and a line of unique automotive accessories and apparel, available
through Ford dealerships, Harley-Davidson dealerships and
www.icollection.com. The alliance also will include celebrations of each
company's centennial in 2003.
