Crewe
- Bentley sales worldwide for the first nine months of 2000 were 1012
units, a 36 per cent increase compared with the same period in 1999.
All
products in the Bentley stable remain in demand with the Arnage Red
Label proving extremely popular around the world. The home market
continues to flourish, with retail sales in the UK growing by 28 per
cent to 334 units compared with 261 for the same period last year. Sales
in the UK now account for nearly a third of global sales.
In
the world's leading market where growth has been significant in the past
year, The Americas is celebrating a near 35 per cent increase with sales
reaching 404 units.
In
Continental Europe, an impressive growth of over 38 per cent has been
achieved. Similarly. in Japan, where trading has been difficult in
recent years sales rose by almost 31 per cent.

help create a strong platform for the future. We continue to see demand
grow globally for both our Arnage Red Label and Bentley two door family
of products. The teams around the world, along with our dealer partners
have worked enormously hard to achieve these superb results which are a
credit to their consistent effort."
Bentley
Motors is benefiting from a £500 million investment programme from
parent company Volkswagen AG. This year alone a £3 million
state-of-the-art engineering development and test facility will be
created, with completion of phase two of a new £1.5 million design
centre and £56 million worth of investment in the Crewe site for plant
and equipment for the assembly of MSB (Mid Sized Bentley).
