DAILY REPORTS

Day One     Day Two      Day Three

DAY TWO : Monday, January 6 - Part 2

Honda

.
Honda Studio E concept

The Honda Studio E concept vehicle, a panel-side version of the all-new Honda Element, transforms the outdoors-minded Element into the ultimate mobile entertainment platform geared more for city nightlife and street performance. Studio E is built around the needs and lifestyle of a club DJ and transforms the Element's cavernous interior into a rolling audio and video studio complete with an onboard personal audio computer for mixing tracks and a 42-inch high-definition plasma screen display. The upright and modular exterior styling remain true to the Element, while the panel sides conceal equipment and provide security for speakers and amplifiers inside.

"We looked at opportunities to extend the Element's attributes and a panel-side version seemed like a natural," said Tom Elliott, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Studio E is pure concept, simply an example of what could be done with the ultimate panel-side Element."

Infinity FX45

Infinity Triant Concept

FX45

The all-new Infiniti FX45 premium crossover SUV made its world debut at the 2003 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The all-wheel drive FX45 is powered by a 315-horsepower 4.5-liter V8 (optional 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 named the FX35) and features standard 20-inch wheels and tires, leather seating and a sport-tuned 4-wheel independent suspension. Inside, the FX45 provides a highly personalized interior environment with cockpit-like styling, sports seats and extensive use of real aluminum trim accents. Other available equipment includes a DVD-based Infiniti Navigation System, rear seat DVD Mobile Entertainment System, RearView Monitor, Intelligent Key, Tire Pressure Monitor System and Intelligent Cruise Control.

Triant

The all-new Infiniti Triant concept offers the look and feel of a classic sports coupe, with a long, elegant hood, sharply sloped windshield and hatchback and oversize wheelwells stuffed with large wheels and tires. It also features wide, power-assisted gullwing doors and headlights that “guide” the beam around turns with the aid of digital mapping data and GPS technology. Inside, the Triant’s 2+2 cabin features an innovative sliding rear seatback that nearly doubles the cargo area when not in use, voice-based control of some cockpit features and a careful blending of natural and high-tech materials that redefines performance luxury amenities.

Ferrari/ Maserati

.
Kubang GT Wagon

Ferrari Enzo

"We are particularly happy to be here in Detroit with Ferrari and Maserati, as both these marques have very close links with this country. For the past twenty years, America has been the most important market for Ferrari. Now, exactly one year after returning to the USA with its Coupe and Spyder, the same also applies to Maserati, which sold 900 cars in North America. The Ferrari figure of 1203 cars delivered to customers means that North American sales are up 18% on 2001.

In the case of Maserati, thanks to the success in 2002 of the Spyder and Coupe, we are going through a very busy period with new initiatives. Today, we unveil the "Kubang" concept vehicle, a GT Wagon, born out of the collaboration between Maserati and Giugiaro. It is a completely new concept for Maserati, but maintains the marque's tradition for sports grand tourers. It is a very versatile four wheel drive, with sports performance but considerable cabin space. It is very comfortable, easy to live with for recreational purposes and also daily use. For the time being, it is just a concept, but we really want to make it a reality as soon as possible."

Ford Truck

2004 Ford F-150

The all-new 2004 Ford F-150 creates a bold first impression as it extends Ford's tradition as America's Tough Truck leader. It creates an even bigger lasting impression when its doors are opened to reveal a revolutionary interior design with refinement, comfort and spaciousness unparalleled in a truck.

The combination of Tough Truck capability and refinement sets a new standard for the industry. Toughness. Strength. Pulling Power. Fuel Economy. Safety. Interior spaciousness. Refinement. Driving dynamics. Stability. Functionality. Cargo capacity. Comfort. Style.

"In Europe, rallye cars are known for their tough levels of durability no matter what the conditions are," said Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President - Design, Chrysler Group. "In North America, such vehicles are usually seen only in video games. But why limit someone who has an active lifestyle or just appreciates a vehicle with similar capability to something the size of a traditional SUV?"

Dodge Avenger delivers as easily on the streets of New York City, Detroit and Chicago as on the back roads of Vail, Napa Valley or Cheyenne.

Dodge Kahuna

"Active individuals, true free spirits, demand vehicles that are flexible with appropriate room for gear, but they want it with style," said Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President - Design, Chrysler Group. "The Kahuna was named for its extreme attitude and approach - both Dodge brand attributes."

The six-passenger Dodge Kahuna features an exterior design that conveys an athletic, capable image that is readily associated with the California coastal culture.

Dodge Tomahawk

The Viper-powered Dodge Tomahawk concept vehicle shatters all the barriers of conventional thinking about personal transportation. This four-wheel, single-passenger vehicle is a sleek, rolling sculpture that combines art-deco styling with extreme engineering.

The 500-horsepower Viper V-10 engine powering the dual rear wheels gives this radical vehicle a potential top speed of nearly 400 miles per hour - for anyone who wants to test it. The Tomahawk roared into public view at the North American International Auto Show.

Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Tarmac Concept

Mitsubishi Endeaver Concept

.
Mitsubishi Tarmac Concept

Inspired by the well-received Mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac sports hatch concept that appeared at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show, the Mitsubishi Tarmac Spyder provides a more aggressive performance and styling treatment.

Mitsubishi Endeaver Concept

The all-new, mid-sized Mitsubishi Endeavor S.U.V. boasts stand-out styling and spirited performance. Endeavor will be powered by a V6 engine and will be available as either a front-wheel-drive or an all-wheel-drive model. Endeavor will arrive in showrooms in March 2003 as a 2004 model. Endeavor is the first vehicle coming to market under Mitsubishi Motors' Project America initiative. Project America represents a $1.4 billion investment by Mitsubishi Motors to develop vehicles in North America specifically for the North American market.
