General Motors Names McCann-Erickson Detroit As Agency Of Record For Corporate Advertising And Marketing Activities DETROIT - General Motors Corporation announced that McCann-Erickson Detroit has been named the agency of record for GM's Corporate Advertising and Marketing activities. The agency will continue its work to develop GM's corporate brand strategy and assume responsibility for corporate marketing initiatives and advertising. "McCann has continued to deliver a high level of work for GM's cross-divisional retail advertising, so it was a logical choice for us to meld the work into one total GM account," said John G. Middlebrook, GM vice president and general manager, Vehicle Brand Marketing and Corporate Advertising. "While we have had a long and productive client/agency relationship with N.W. Ayer & Partners, we believe this consolidation with McCann will integrate our strategic and tactical efforts." McCann-Erickson Detroit is part of McCann-Erickson Worldwide, owned by the InterPublic Group of Companies (IPG). McCann-Erickson Worldwide has eight full-service ad agencies across the U.S. and operations in 131 countries. McCann-Erickson Detroit is the agency of record for GM's Buick Division.
