Mazda named Thomas Rothe Managing Director for Czech Republic and Slovakia

Mazda Motor Europe announced that Ivan Ruzicka has chosen to leave the company for a new challenge. Mr Ruzicka successfully established, as Managing Director, national sales companies (NSCs) in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

From 1 July, Thomas Rothe will assume the position of Managing Director for both markets. With the two NSCs now fully operational, Mr Rothe’s immediate challenge will be to complete the full integration of these business units into Mazda’s European organisation and to establish momentum from which to maximise the opportunities afforded by the launch of the all-new Mazda2 later this year.

Mr. Rothe, 46, joined Mazda Motor Europe in 2002 as General Manager for Business Development. In 2003 he was appointed Director of Customer Service and more recently was responsible, as Director of Distributor Operations, for the activities of the independent Mazda distributors in Europe.

Prior to his Mazda career, he gained extensive automotive experience both at dealer and distributor level, including 10 years in various positions for Toyota in Germany.
