Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este invites
entries to second Concorso di Motociclette
Munich/Cernobbio - 2011 was the first year
that the Concorso d’Eleganza also invited motorcycles to enter a
competition – and the Concorso di Motociclette will be back in 2012 for
a second run. As this year, the parkland of Villa Erba, not far from the
Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, will provide the stage for this unique beauty
pageant. The entry application list for the 2012 Concorso di
Motociclette will open on 1 December, and applications are welcome from
collectors, enthusiasts and private owners alike. The motorcycles for
the event are selected according to their historical significance, as
well as technical and aesthetic criteria.
The international jury will get the
contest under way with a detailed inspection of the motorcycles
registered for the Concorso, before presenting them to the public one by
one. Ahead of the actual competition, the motorcycles will give the
assembled admirers a rolling preview of what is to come as part of a
public parade. “We’ve received encouragement from both visitors and
entrants to take the motorcycle Concorso to the next stage. The public
parade is a first step in this direction,” explains Karl Baumer,
President of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, with an eye to the
future.
