Nissan North America: Infinity Sales 2000

Infiniti Reports Best Calendar Year with Sales of 78,351 Units

CARSON, Calif. – Boasting the best sales year in its 11-year history, Infiniti, the luxury division of Nissan North America (NNA), reported total 2000 calendar year sales of 78,351 units, a 7.9 percent increase versus 1999. Total sales for 2000 surpassed Infiniti’s previous record set in 1999, by more than 5,000 units.

Contributing to Infiniti’s record-setting year was its best sales year for both the I30 (39,532 units sold) and QX4 (21,545 units sold) models. December highlights include:

 

Total QX4 sales for December were 1,484 units.

  • The I30 mid-luxury sedan continues with strong sales of 2,372 units in December.

  • The G20 sedan posted sales of 757 units in December. Total G20 sales for the year were 13,095 units.

  • Infiniti’s flagship Q45 performance sedan posted calendar year sales of 4,178 units, with December sales of 319.

NNA sales for calendar year 2000, including Nissan and Infiniti divisions, totaled 752,088 units, an 11.1 percent increase versus the previous year. Combined, December sales for the divisions were 55,552 units, a 5.2 percent decrease versus December 1999.

“Infiniti Division completed calendar year 2000 with a record-setting sales pace thanks to a strong retailer group and product lineup,” said Tom Orbe, vice president and general manager, Infiniti Division. “Looking ahead, we will introduce the all-new, 2002 Q45 this coming spring, which will set new standards in performance and luxury. Adding to our enthusiasm and brand awareness, we will debut an exciting concept vehicle, the FX45, at the Detroit auto show later this month.”

Infiniti is supported by a network of over 150 retailers throughout North America and offers a range of luxury vehicles including the Infiniti QX4 luxury Sport Utility Vehicle, G20 sports sedan, I30 luxury sedan, and flagship Q45 luxury performance sedan.
