Saturn Wins Three IntelliChoice Awards

CHICAGO - For the seventh year in a row, IntelliChoice has selected the Saturn SL and SL1 as "The Best Overall Value of the Year" in the Compact Under $15,000 segment and the Saturn SW2 wagon as "The Best Overall Value of the Year" in the Small Wagon segment. IntelliChoice also named the Saturn SC1 coupe as "A Best Overall Value" in the subcompact under $14,000 segment.

"Since its first eligibility for the award in 1993, Saturn has been a pillar of consistency year after year. That Saturn vehicles continue to distinguish themselves is a testament to Saturn's ongoing commitment to quality and value," said John Hammond, president of IntelliChoice.

IntelliChoice objectively evaluates the cost of ownership to determine which vehicles offer the best value to consumers. This analysis calculates and projects the costs of owning a vehicle over a five year time period. The costs of ownership include vehicle depreciation, insurance, maintenance, repair, fuel, state fees and financing. IntelliChoice evaluates hundreds of vehicles, grouping them into 29 different categories.

"We redesigned the 2000 Saturn S-Series sedans and wagons with an emphasis on providing quality and value to our customers," said Jill Lajdziak, Saturn vice president of sales, service and marketing. "We are very pleased that our vehicles have once again been recognized by IntelliChoice for providing outstanding value."
