With the increased interest of revenue authorities in the transfer pricing activities of automotive companies, it is becoming a necessity to understand the arguments and approaches by revenue authorities in testing the efficacy of transfer prices for vehicles ,parts, intangibles etc.

This site helps to put the big picture together in terms of production, performance and sales. I look forward to many more visits to this site.

Mr.President,

I have a Gol MI 1998,still in garantee, but I had differents problems all over the year with my car. I´m very insatisfied with this fact, because when I brought this car I really think I was buying a VW. Now, my garantee is in the end, and my car´s troubles aren´t solved yet. I have all services notes, and for a new car,I had differents problems with it. I´d like to complain about this, and ask you a solution. I live in Fortaleza-CE,Brasil, it was my first car, and I´ll look for my personal rights. Thank You for your attention, hope your answer Cecília Colares.

I am sorry, but I would like to ask you a favour. My father who is very sick and dying is looking for an old friend that worked at volkswagen, his name was Leo Boer. He lived in Montreal Quebec in the mid 50's than moved on to the USA for a while before returning to Germany and going to work at Volkswagen. any assistance would be greatful. And yes my first car was a 67 VW Bug. It was a great car it never stopped ticking, better than a timex, until one day during the first snow of the winter in the Blackforest a BMW hit me and damaged the car beyond repair. The bug was a great car, the new one is nice to I would like to get one but I have to work on my better half

I do like your web site but what I was hoping to find, was a reference to where I might be able to obtain an urgently needed spare part for a Passat Var. CL (1995) which I bought directly from VW Germany and had exported to Windhoek/Namibia. Neither VW in Namibia nor in South Africa is able to assist in obtaining a new Turbo unit. Comment: It is an imported car from Germany which is not manufactured in Southern Africa. I like to order from any VW dealer in Germany but don't know where. Could anyone at VW (who might read this comment) assist ??????? MB Schneider schneider@iwwn.com.na

My wife and I are owners of a 1994 Ford Escort of which she drives. Recently, I took the car to a garage for a tuneup and oil change. The day after the work was done my wife noticed a tap in the engine. She didn't pay it much mind at the time and continued to drive it. The next day she had a problem keeping the engine running; it kept stalling. So, she took the car to another garage where the mechanic pointed that the problem she was having was related to the recent tuneup and oil change. He suggested that we take the car back to the garage that did the tuneup and oil change and have them check their work. When I did, by this time the car had to be towed, the garage foreman explained that our problems were not related to anything that they had done to the car and that there is a "known" problem with the Ford Escort engine such as we had and that at the number of miles we had on the car, 110 thousand, the engine suddenly blows. The garage is A-Tech Automotive Inc. in Allentown, Pa. Please explain. When we bought the car the dealer explained that the engine is good for well into the hundred thousand mile range.

We recently purchased a 1998 Buick Century. Our trade-in was a 1991 Park Ave. We loved the Park Ave., but no longer needed such a large car so we got the Century. We have a problem with the design of the windshield wipers. When it snows they always freeze up and will not thaw out even if the car is stiffling hot on defrost. This is a dangerous situation, as it makes it very hard to see out the front windshield. It actually makes it worse at times. Is there a way to correct this? This is the first car we ever had with this problem.

I need your help! My friend bought a brand new Toyota Avalon last July. She felted that there's something wrong with the car right the way but did not take the car to the dealership til 6 months later. (She is only 18 years old and the car is under her father's name)

My friend's car is being repaired for major damages by "RODENT"(?)according to the dealership. The cost of repair - $4,000. "RODENT" is not covered by the warranty.

Please let me know what can my friend do at this point? There's never "RODENT" problem at her house. The family has two other cars for years and never had the problem. My friend's dad is very quiet and we are afraid he is going to stress himself out. He tried to talk to dealer guys but did not do any good.

Please please help! My friend and her dad work so hard and bought the brand new car. It's not fair! The "RODENT" probably was hiding in the pipe when she first drove the car home from LONGO TOYOTA in El Monte, California.

I will be waiting for your advise. Thank you.

Hi , I saw the career section of this web-page, and maybe I can be of some help to you. You said that the automotive industry is in grave need of Engineers. I finished to study, in Janaury, my career is Industrial Engineering and my speciality is Environmental Issues. The next month I'm goin to work in research for 2 or 3 months to the Technological University in Munchen. Then I'll stay there working, because I'm european citizen and I want to learn from development countries. I'd like to know what I have to do, because I would be extremely interested in working as an Intern, or as a full time Engineering Technologist. I like and I want to learn, and I am a hard worker. Any opportunity would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Alejandra Gonzalez.

I work at Cummins,my question is,we understand that there are rumors that Dodge is looking for another diesel engine company(Cat.) to supply their engines for the club cabs. Why? I feel that our engine is the best on the market for overall performance and quality! Cummins and Dodge ought to get together with the owners of these trucks and see what their opinions are. I own a 98 Caravan and after 50000 miles its starting to nickel and dime us to death! Talking about quality? We are thanful for Dodge but are tired of hearing how bad we are every time a rep. is in house, thank you for listening to the real workers side! Rob Hensley Team 3a CMEP,CUMMINS

Original owner of an 1984 VW Scirroco with 240,000 with majority of parts original. Car has been very reliable. Getting ready to have to spend considerable amount of $ on it though. Thanks for the product. Can you help me get another one? Credit is undesirable. Thanks.
