SLR McLaren

Vision CLS

Trevor Creek, VP Design Chrysler, being interested in the new high performance car

World premieres of the Mercedes study Vision CLS and SLR McLaren

The new SLR Mc Laren is an impressive testament to the competence aand experience of Mercedes-Benz and Formula 1 partner McLaren in the development and production of high-performance cars.

The two-seater, with its striking swing-wing doors and styling elements borrowed from the Formula 1 Silver Arrows, builds on the legacy of the famous SLR race cars of the 1950s.

The newly developed V8 supercharged engine delivers aan output of 460 kW / 626 hp and accelerates the sports car from 0 - 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The top speed is approx. 334 km/h.

The Vision CLS continues a series of extraordinary, pioneering car concepts with which Mercedes-Benz has repeatedly set trends in previous years. Never before have two different characters been combined as specifically and beautifully as in this design study, where the stylistic excitement of a coupé harmonises with the comfort and functionality of a saloon.

Audi Le Mans quattro concept study

A high-performance sports car, a roadgoing vehicle that could be said to have inherited the genes of the Audi R8, three-times winner of the Le Mans 24-Hours race: Audi reveals its ‘Le Mans quattro’ concept study.

1.90 metres wide but only 4.37 metres long and 1.25 metres high: this clearly reflects the proportions of a pure sports car. A wheelbase of 2.65 metres accommodates a surprisingly spacious cockpit and the longitudinally installed V10 ‘biturbo’ engine with FSI direct fuel injection behind it. To the rear of the doors, between the sill and the roof, there is a large outward-curving intake that supplies the V10 engine, the brakes, the oil cooler and the charge-air intercooler with sufficient air.
