Lear Corporation Named "Porsche Supplier of the Year" Supplier Award 2001

Stuttgart - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has chosen Lear Corporation, Böblingen, as its Supplier of the Year for 2001. Lear Corporation has been a supplier of seating and interior systems to Porsche since 1997 and has received this award for achieving the best overall performance in fiscal year 2000/2001. Suppliers were assessed on the basis of quality, logistics and cost optimisation. The awards ceremony took place during the ninth annual "Supplier Day" in Ludwigsburg, Stuttgart.

Apart from Lear Corporation, nine other Porsche suppliers were honoured with the "Supplier Award 2001" for their outstanding contribution over the past year. The recipients were Robert Bosch GmbH (Stuttgart), Cooper Standard Automotive GmbH (Schelklingen), Heinrich Gillet GmbH & Co KG Tenneco Automotive (Edenkoben), Kingeter GmbH (Heiningen), Krupp Automotive Systems GmbH (Bochum), Krupp Drauz GmbH (Heilbronn), Leoni AG (Nuremberg), Rautenbach-Guss Wernigerode GmbH (Wernigerode) and Schweikert Hermann GmbH (Lehrensteinsfeld).

Within the framework of this, the ninth "Supplier Day" in Ludwigsburg, Finance Director, Holder P. Härter, and Production Director, Michael Macht, presented the much coveted trophies to the award winners. The aim of the annual event is to recognise the outstanding performance of top suppliers, to promote mutual dialogue and to continue to optimise cooperation between manufacturers and suppliers.

In his address, the Chairman of Dr. representatives of the supplier organisations for their efforts. He emphasised the fact that "despite producing the highest number of units in the history of the company, we managed to maintain the highest standards in quality and achieve even greater productivity increases by further optimising production processes. Without the outstanding commitment and performance of our partners in the supplier industry, none of this would have been possible".
