Nissan Mexicana, S.A. de C.V.
Nissan's first
production facility in North America was established in Mexico through
Nissan Mexicana, S.A. de C.V. (NISMEX) in 1966. Today, with annual vehicle
production capacity of more than 300,000, NISMEX produces engines and other
parts for global distribution and employs 7,500 workers in a foundry in
Lerma and plants in Aguascalientes and Cuernavaca. In 1992, cumulative
production surpassed 1,500,000.
