Audi Golf Shoot Out sees Fasth and Karlson
Impressive playing skills, professional
golfers from all over the world close-up, enjoyment galore for
the spectators and 5,000 euros for a good cause – this the
result of the Audi Shoot Out, that kicked off the Deutsche Bank
Players’ Championship of Europe at “Gut Kaden” in Northern
Germany yesterday. Niclas Fasth and Robert Karlsson won the
relaxed round in which ten of the world’s best professionals
Premium Partner Audi had endowed the shoot-out
again with 5,000 euros. Immediately afterwards, the winning duo
presented the cheque to Dagmar Berghoff.
The former German national TV news announcer
and long-standing patroness of “terre des hommes Deutschland e.V.”
accepted the donation on behalf of the organisation that is dedicated to
providing developmental aid to children.
After the Audi Shoot Out the pros and invited
amateurs are meeting for a Pro-Am tournament today before the tournament
on the outskirts of Hamburg that is endowed with 3.6 million euros
officially starts to the first Championship round tomorrow. The
tournament ranks among the highly endowed stops on the European Tour and
attracts 156 players.
Winner Karlsson and the Audi R8
Thursday night will feature the finale of the
“Beat the Pro presented by Audi”, that has been causing a sensation on
the river “Binnenalster” in the heart of Hamburg: Golf fans have the
chance to hit a ball from the banks of the river across the water to the
Green island – the most successful contender will be competing – among
others – against tournament title defender Robert Karlsson.
