Extensive Facelift for the Mazda Tribute

  • Mazda Tribute now with two new engines

  • Improvements to exterior and interior

  • More standard safety

Mazda Tribute 3,3 litre

Leverkusen - The Mazda Tribute has always combined sedan like comfort with the ruggedness of an off-road vehicle. Now the Mazda Tribute has undergone an extensive facelift to enhance these attributes even more. The most important change affects the engines. A new 2.3-litre, 110 kW/150 PS petrol engine from the MZR family is introduced to the line up replacing the old 2.0-litre engine. This modern aggregate is an ideal combination of power and operating refinement, with a Euro Stage IV emission ranking. The Tribute's V6 engine has also been upgraded to produce more power (149 kW/203 PS) than the previous V6. The 2.3-litre engine comes with a five-speed manual transmission, the 3.0-litre engine with a smooth-shifting 4-speed automatic transmission.

Sporty and elegant design accents

Besides the new engines, the new Mazda Tribute exterior now features new front and rear bumper designs, as well as new front headlamps and taillights. These features, combined with new body-colour side mirrors and grille, give the face lifted Tribute an even more car-like elegance. For a sporty touch, there are new standard 16-inch alloy wheels and boldly contoured wheel-arch mouldings. On the inside, there is a newly designed centre console, and the gear shift for the automatic transmission has been moved from the steering column to the floor.

More Standard Safety

Always a safe vehicle, the new Tribute has features to make it even safer than before. Dual-stage front airbags for both driver and front passenger, as well as curtain airbags, are now standard; along with head rests and three-point seatbelts at all three seats in the back. Discs brakes at all four wheels, and ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, are now standard on all models as well.

Superior AWD System

The new Tribute now comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) standard on all models regardless of engine or grade that features Active Torque Control Coupling, or ATTC. This system monitors wheel speed and gas pedal position to send torque, via an electromagnetic coupling, automatically to the rear wheels when it is needed. The new Mazda Tribute's ATTC system reacts especially quickly to changing conditions and helps improve traction on slippery surfaces.
