IntelliChoice winners include:

  • Civic DX sedan as Best Car Value under $20,000

  • Civic CX/DX/HX coupe, sedan and hatchback models as Best Subcompact under $14,000

  • Civic LX/EX coupe and sedan models as Best Subcompact over $14,000

MOTORWEEK, which airs nationally on PBS, gave its 1999 Driver's Choice award to the all-new, larger Honda Odyssey as Best Minivan. The Odyssey features the most powerful V-6 engine in its category, three-point seat belts and headrests at all seven seating positions, Honda's third-row Magic Seat™ that disappears into the floor, and dual sliding doors.

For the 13th time, CAR AND DRIVER named the Honda Accord to their esteemed "10 Best" list. Honda products have been named to the list 30 times — more than any other nameplate. According to CAR AND DRIVER, the Accord earned "10 Best" recognition because of its "relentless refinement since its debut more than 20 years ago," including drivetrain excellence and a roomier interior.

AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE recognized the Honda Prelude and the Odyssey as two of its All Stars -- Best Sports Car (Prelude) and Best Minivan (Odyssey). Additionally, a committee of top-ranking international journalists picked the Honda Odyssey as one of the three finalists for the prestigious North American Car of the Year Award, and the Odyssey was also recognized by AMERICAN WOMAN MOTORSCENE magazine as the "most versatile team player" in their minivan category.
