Stuttgart,
Germany – Following the extremely successful launch of the new
C-Class, Mercedes-AMG GmbH is proud to present the top model of the new
range, the C 32 AMG. The exceptional qualities of this compact sports
sedan, which will arrive in the showrooms in spring 2001, are reflected
in its impressive technical credentials: equipped with a compressor-type
supercharger, the 3.2-liter V6 engine generates 260 kW/354 hp while its
remarkable maximum torque of 450 newton meters outclasses every other
series production car in this segment, demonstrating, once again, that
Mercedes-AMG GmbH is second to none when it comes to developing
outstanding high-performance automobiles.
"The
new C 32 AMG represents a logical progression in our highly successful
model strategy. We have created the sportiest C-Class ever in order to
offer our demanding clients a state-of-the-art sports sedan which
provides a truly engaging driving experience. With its powerful yet
decidedly eco-friendly supercharged engine, it turns every mile into an
unashamed celebration of dynamic driving pleasure," says Dr.
Wolfgang Bernhard, Head of the managerial board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
"As far as the direct competition is concerned, the C 32 AMG will
be the benchmark for some time to come. But the AMG version of the new
C-Class is only the beginning: Mercedes-AMG GmbH will be providing even
more striking examples of its expertise with high-performance
supercharged engines in the future."
