Egery, the First Internet Company Dedicated to European Drivers, To Unveil Initial Service Offer at the Paris Auto Show

Egery, the equally-owned joint venture between PSA Peugeot Citroën and Vivendi, will unveil its initial connected car services at the Paris Auto Show (building 8). Led by former Vivendi executive Jean-Marc Monguillet, Egery is designing and developing a comprehensive package of Internet-based services for drivers. Some of these services can already be accessed by mobile phone in the Auto pages of the Vizzavi France portal. They will be available over the Internet from end-September.

Egery will play a pioneering role in developing connected cars by leveraging advanced communication technologies to offer drivers a range of new services:

  •  Safety and maintenance, including remote fault diagnosis.

  •  Mobility and driver assistance, including dynamic navigation and traffic information.

  •  Driving comfort and enjoyment, including radio-shopping, interactive music, and online tourist information.

The services will be accessible on the following sites from September:

  • Vizzavi Auto, the specialized auto channel hosted by the Vizzavi France multi-access Internet portal, which was launched by Vivendi and Vodafone last June 19.

  • The websites and European call centers of the Peugeot and Citroën marques.

The offer will be gradually extended to include services provided by other partners from the automotive and driver services industry.

Egery's services are accessible from all types of terminals:

  • Computers and mobile phones from September 2000, followed by Personal Digital Assistants and TV sets.

  • -Peugeot and Citroën cars fitted with interactive dedicated devices, notably the Peugeot 607 as of this autumn, followed by the Citroën Xsara CE Windows.

In addition, they will be available in the driver's own language throughout Europe (France, UK, Germany, Italy and Spain as from June 2001). The creation of Egery is subject to approval by the European Commission.
