Klaus Fricke - The New Market Strategy Director In Fiat Auto SpA

Turin, Italy - Klaus Fricke, a 48-year-old German graduate in business management from Wuppertal University, has just been appointed Market Strategy Director in Fiat Auto SpA's new Sales & Marketing Division.

His mission will be to define the long-term and brand management strategies for Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Fiat Commercial Vehicles.

After 25 years' experience in the automotive industry, Klaus is joining the team led by Juan Jose Diaz Ruiz, Fiat Auto SpA's Executive Vice-President Sales & Marketing.

Klaus' career highlights include Sales & Marketing Director BMW Group (central Europe), Managing Director Recaro GmbH (the German car seat producer), and more recently, General Manager for Micro Compact Car, where he was responsible for re-launching the Smart city vehicle.

At Micro Compact Car, Klaus was the main instigator of a vital corporate revival, which he brought about in short order through the formulation of a new branding and communications strategy, helping Smart to exceed sales of 100,000 units per annum last year.

Recently, Klaus took on another important role as Head of Research into new distribution channels and business development for DaimlerChrysler, reporting directly to the Board.
