Volkswagen Beatle
 |
When
Volkswagen presented the Beetle Cabriolet in 1949, open-topped driving
in a four-seater became accessible to many people for the first time. On
a matured and practical basis, the vehicle offered pure driving fun
under open skies throughout the world. The Beetle Cabriolet was
phased-out in 1980 after more than 330,000 vehicles had been sold; by
this time, it had long since become the classless lifestyle vehicle for
generations of Cabriolet drivers. The New Beetle Cabriolet is a
highly-modern interpretation of precisely this vehicle concept. A
lifestyle vehicle, equally classless, equally open without convertible
top bows and equally entirely practical.

Seat Ibiza Cupra R
 |
Developed by
SEAT Sport in collaboration with SEAT’s Technical Centre, the new Ibiza
Cupra R features a sporty image, which is strengthened by such
attractive elements as newly designed bumpers, a front grille shaped
with slats at the top and a honeycomb arrangement at the bottom, a
chromed oval tailpipe, a larger spoiler that trails off the roof and 17
inch alloy rims with five, double spokes.
The car can be equipped
either with a 1.8 20V Turbo petrol or a 1.9 TDi
Diesel engine with a power output from 150 hp. For the first time SEAT
includes the "R" concept, synonymous of sportiness and high performance,
in a Diesel vehicle. |
Volkswagen Multivan
 |
The second minivan that VW is unveiling at Geneva lies at
the other end of the range. The Multivan is a large luxury family car,
and is a further variant of the two vehicles the marque already has in
this class – the Phaeton saloon and the Touareg off-roader. Luxuriously
fitted out, this maxi-van is offered with a choice of five engines: two
petrol (115 and 230 bhp) and three turbodiesel from 104 to 174 bhp.

Volkswagen Touran

|
With the
Touran, VW enters the compact minivan market, where it was not
previously represented. The interior, which has room for up to seven
seats, is particularly flexible. The Touran will be launched with a
choice of three petrol and diesel engines, delivering between 100 and
136 bhp, all with a manual six-speed gearbox. Other engine line-ups, as
well as an innovative six-speed automatic transmission, will follow.
