Ford Motor Company
Summary:  On display at the 2001Geneva Motorshow will be a diverse range of new products that are leading the transformation of Ford in Europe. Highlights from Ford at Geneva include:
  • consumer-driven new technologies like the advanced second-generation common-rail diesel engine of the new Ford Focus TDCi
  • exciting choices of performance cars, like the WRC-inspired Ford Focus RS, about to enter production, plus the unveiling of a performance concept for the new Ford Mondeo
  • the tough and dependable new Ford Maverick small sport utility vehicle and all-new Ford Explorer full-size SUV
  • practical technology under development for an environmentally aware future: the Ford Focus FCV fuel cell prototype, and the hybrid Ford Maverick HEV
  • the award-winning all-new Ford Mondeo and new Ford Galaxy ranges launched in 2000
Aston Martin

With a maximum speed close to 200 mph the V12 Vanquish is powered by a 6.0 litre V12 460 horsepower Aston Martin engine. The six speed transmission is controlled through a Formula I style paddle gear change which permits gear changes to be completed in 250 milliseconds 

  • Aston Martin Study by Italdesign

    A new study done by Italdesign will be presented at the show
 

 

 

 

Ford

  • Pininfarina StreetKa

In cooperation with Pininfarina Ford developed a sporty convertible called StreetKa

  • Ford Focus RS

Even if it is not a real racing car, the Focus Rs is inspired by the WRC car

  • Ford Mondeo Performance Concept 

Introduction of a performance concept based on the newly introduced Ford Mondeo

  • Focus TDCi

The Ford TDCi is equiped with a new second generation common rail diesel engine

  • Focus FCV

This Fuel Cell Prototype was developed in Germany in conjunction with the Ford research lab in Aachen.

  • All new Ford Explorer

 

 

Jaguar

The X-TYPE 2.5-liter will feature the 194-horsepower AJ-V6 engine fitted with either a five-speed manual gearbox or an optional five-speed electronic automatic transmission. The X-TYPE 3.0-liter equipped with a 231-horsepower AJ-V6 engine comes with the automatic as standard, with a manual as a no-cost option.

Land Rover

  • Defender Lara Croft

The Tomb Raider Defender is based on a Defender high capacity pick up and is powered by a 184 PS 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine. The body is finished in Bonatti Grey metallic and features aluminium tread plates. For the rough conditions, the vehicle is equipped with a raised air intake and has an expedition tool kit.

  • Range Rover Westminster Limited Edition

The Range Rover Westminster limited edition shown at Geneva is based on the Vogue model and is finished in Bonatti grey, a new colour for 2001. The seats are trimmed in ash grey leather with granite piping.

 

 

 

 

 

Mazda
  • Mazda MX Sport Tourer

Mazda will reveal the "MX SPORT TOURER" concept model at the Geneva Motor Show. "MX SPORT TOURER", a new kind of vehicle, combines the athletic styling of a sports car with the functionality of an estate model.

Volvo

 

Already introduced in Detroit, Volvo will present this special safety concept car first time in Europe
