Summary:
The Mercedes highlight at this year’s IAA is a new
SL — the very first high-performance SL 55 AMG sports car. In
addition, the new M-Class will be celebrating its public debut
at the IAA as will the new G 270 CDI with its direct-injection
diesel engine and the Vaneo compact van. A dynamic design,
high-performance V8 engines and an extensive range of additional
equipment will make the M-Class a special eye-catcher.

The
supercharged V8 engine in the SL 55 AMG makes it the most
powerful Mercedes passenger car on the market. The new 5.5-litre
powerplant develops a remarkable 350 kW/476 hp and generates
maximum torque of 700 Newtonmetres as low as 2650 rpm.
Though its roadspace requirements are
frugal, at just 4.2 metres long, the Mercedes-Benz Vaneo is
impressively spacious. Three design and equipment lines -
"Trend", "Family", "Ambiente" - and
environment-friendly petrol and diesel engines will offer customers a
wide range of choice right from the launch date.
A total of over 1100 components have
been newly developed or modified in the course of the model update.
New-design bumpers at the front and rear reinforce the powerful,
dynamic character of the four-wheel-drive vehicle, while headlamps
with contemporary-style, clear polycarbonate lenses and aerodynamic
exterior mirror casings with integral indicators add elegance to the
overall look.
